The Republicans have just got badly beaten in the American midterm elections (11.3.26), and both House and Senate are in Democrat hands.
The Left is salivating, pacing their cages, waiting for January when they can finally take back the Congress which they have felt belonged to them, always had and always will.
'We will get that cocksucker', said Hakeem Jeffries, certain to be new Speaker of the House, in an unguarded moment, for the one principal, foremost item on the new Congressional agenda is to ruin the President, to pay him back for all his insults, dismissiveness, extra-judicial and unconstitutional assaults on American democracy. Impeachment proceedings will be begun the day the Democrats take office, not only against the President, but against his entire Cabinet.
Any presidential appointments whether to the Supreme Court or the federal bench will be held up in Congress, unable to move forward and doomed to failure.
The legislative process, one designed by the Founding Fathers to do the nation's business, will turn exclusively on vendetta and retribution. The one and only thing on the mind of Jeffries and his colleagues is to get rid of Donald Trump once and for all.
The Democrats who have never run on their own policy and programs but have relied on Trump hatred, will be even more vicious and vituperative. The nation's business? To destroy every vestige of Trump, conservatism, and what they consider outdated, racist American foundational values.
Trump, however, will not go quietly. He knows what is coming from Congress and he knows how to use executive power. He knows that the pacifist Left will take every measure within their means to stop the war in Iran, and so will use his Constitutional power to deliver hammer blows to the mullahs, the Republican Guard, and their theocratic operatives. It will be no holds barred to finish the job, to further degrade Iran's nuclear capability, to destroy whatever offensive and defensive infrastructure remains, and to severely limit its ability to support its client states.
The President has the power to do this, and nothing in the Constitution obliges him to listen to the electoral voice of the people who have been increasingly against the war. This man will not bow his head in contrition, offer peace and conciliation, and a generous settlement. On the contrary, he will pull every lever of power at his disposal to complete what he started.
Yet the Congress holds the purse strings, and will rein in whatever new offensives the President has in mind. It will do everything it can to stop the war, assure 'peace in our times', and give full international sovereignty back to Iran. The Democrats in Congress have always been haters of Israel, and pro-Palestine, and will do their best to free Iran, allowing it to achieve their goal of destroying Israel, a colonizer, an oppressor, and a slaver nation.
Congress can use the War Powers Resolution mechanisms to halt all American interventions in Iran; pass a new authorization for the use of military force rescinding the old one, thus giving it increased powers over military use; pass new binding laws; and apply judicial pressure.
The battle will be fierce with neither side giving an inch, with the edge to Congress, poised to take the White House in two years.
The new Congress will exert its power and legislative influence to keep ICE, the National Guard, and the Army in their barracks. The borders will once again be opened, sanctuary cities will be provided federal funding to welcome, house, and support illegal immigrants, and the country will once again be awash with destabilizing, demoralizing, and disruptive policies and programs.
Feeling their new authority, the Congress will use all its federal power and influence to back decriminalization, defunding of the police, and allowing statutory crime to flourish.
DEI, affirmative action, and all other anti-democratic and unconstitutional programs of the Biden era, although outlawed by the Supreme Court, will be back in the spotlight. Already universities have figured out ways to maintain their racial preferences without overt measures; and the new Congress will do the same, pass enabling legislation that will circumvent the courts and continue the discriminatory, disassembling programs of racial preference.
DEI will return with renewed commitment. The Trump years, say the Left, were racist, reimposing de facto Jim Crow laws, favoring white privilege, and restoring a Euro-centric, colonialist culture. Minorities will immediately be restored to their proper place in positions of influence and power. The dream of multiculturalism will be realized.
All this, of course, is doomed to failure, just as it was during the Biden years. Open borders and the influx of twenty million illegal immigrants did nothing for the country except to consolidate Democrat electoral power - the real agenda behind opening America's doors. Further opening of the border along with renewed justification of sanctuary cities and public funds for immigrant welfare will further erode whatever core ethos remains after the destructive progressive years.
Foreign policy, always in the hands of the President, is nonetheless overseen by Congress, and with new punitive, restrictive legislation, the strong, aggressive, nationalism of the United States will be neutered. Our principal adversaries, Russia and China, Machiavellian to the core, will benefit. They, territorial, imperial, and nationalistic will take advantage of the new Neville Chamberlains in the US Congress and will emerge stronger, more defiant, and powerful.

The US will fall further and further into debt as the new Congress will enact all kinds of new funding. The Biden Administration and Congress authorized billions in bridges-to-nowhere infrastructure authorization, basically writing a check for municipal corruption. It spent billions more on discredited, useless social programs. The new Congress will renew its support for these initiatives.
The Democratic Congress will pass tax laws punishing the rich, and engineer new regulations on finance, entrepreneurship, and innovative technology. The Left's goal of income redistribution will be even closer.
Democratic Socialism, once a small bit of the Left, will now come front and center. The reconfiguration of America into a socialist state, once thought impossible, is being seriously considered and promoted.
Most American voters see things very simplistically - there is no geopolitical context to rising oil prices just more money per fill up. There is similarly no context to unrestricted immigration, the European experience is too remote, too foreign, to have any relevance. Multiculturalism in principle is the ethos on which the nation was founded, so even in its exaggerated, preferential, reverse racism, it still sounds good.
The war in Iran and ICE in the streets turned the fickle mob against the President - and the mob was exactly what Alexander Hamilton feared.
Context never wins elections, and the Republicans found it difficult to parse and translate conservative immigration, military, economic, financial, social, and geopolitical policy into simple, understandable terms. The Democrats were smart. Hammering away at the negatives is all it takes.
The next two years will be dirty, base, remorseless, and destructive. Trump has never given up and never will. The Congress led by ideologues whose whole careers have been based on socialist cant and bombast want revenge. They want a clear path to total electoral victory.
