Recipes–Pasta With Cajun Shrimp And Red Pepper A La Crème

There are many recipes for pasta with shrimp, but this one adds the flavor of Cajun and Bay spices which gives the the recipe uniqueness.



Pasta with Cajun Shrimp and Red Pepper
* 3/4 lb. jumbo Gulf shrimp, previously marinated, grilled
* 1/2 lg. red pepper chopped
* 1 med onion chopped
* 2 med cloves garlic chopped
* 3 Tbsp.  butter
* 2 Tbsp. olive oil
* 1 Tbsp. Bay Spice
* 1 Tbsp. Cajun spice
* 3/4 cup half-and-half
* 1 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley to garnish
- Marinate the shrimp in the spices and olive oil overnight

- Saute the shrimp in a hot cast iron skillet until done

- When cool, peel the shrimp, reserve shrimp, shells

- Boil the shells in enough water to cover half

- Cook approx. 30 minutes or until liquid reduced by half, reserve

- Sautee onions, garlic pepper in butter until soft

- Add reserved liquid, cook over slow heat until reduced to 3/4 cup

- Add cream, stir well and cook for another 5 min stirring well

- Cut shrimp into 1” pieces and add to sauce

- Stir slowly until mixture is warm, serve
